Carpet Backing Options: The standard poly backing that comes with our replacement carpets is a lightweight polyethylene material. It allows the carpet to hold its shape after the molding process but is not designed to add any heat or sound insulation. Mass Backing is a special upgrade backing that’s bonded to the back of your vehicle’s molded carpet. The material is a 45mil thick Rubber-Like Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) that makes your interior carpet heavier—providing more sound protection and heat insulation than the standard backing. It also makes the installation process easier and gives your vehicle a more luxurious look once completely installed. **Both styles of carpet kits come with jute padding in the same areas that the OEM carpet featured, in some cases the jute padding is loose in the box while in others it is attached to the under side of the carpet.
